For those who want a spicy pizza this is the one for you, with a strong taste. You have probably heard of Spilinga nduja, or the area around Vibo Valentia, in which its production has been handcrafted since time immemorial, representing an all-Calabrian pride.

The nduja and the Calabrian esplanade are, in fact, 2 of the products that best represent this fantastic land located in the extreme south of our peninsula.

 

 

SPECIAL FEATURES

The peculiarity of the San Leoluca Calabrian pizza with nduja is the fact that the 'nduja is added directly to the dough and replaces the tomato, this makes the pizza particularly crumbly, soft and slightly spicy.

The best Calabrian 'nduja is a spicy spreadable salami, made with meat from heavy pigs over 14 months of age, which have never eaten whey.

In 'nduja, as mentioned, there is an abundant quantity of chilli (approximately 250 grams for each kilo of meat). Chilli has a strong antiseptic and antioxidant power, which is why no preservatives or additives are required during the storage period.

 

 

Among the various cured meats of Calabria, a little less known, but highly appreciated, there is the Calabrian esplanade also called flat Calabrian, recognizable for its particular flat shape.

The esplanade is produced with meat from pigs reared on Calabrian farms, in particular with the mixture of shoulder, fillet and bacon meats. It is similar to the soppressata, it is flavored with hot pepper and wild fennel.

Together with nduja it gives our pizza that unmistakable taste. All seasoned with a sprinkling of Grana Padano Dop and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
